Kylie Minogue has launches her own brand of rosé just in time for her birthday today, 28 May.

The signature French rosé, made in collaboration with Benchmark Drinks, was created using Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes sourced from the southern French Coast, a region known for its innovative viticulture. It is available from 450 Tesco stores across the country, priced at £9.

"I have a great passion for rosé and have loved working for the last two years on developing Kylie Minogue Wines," says Minogue. "Working with the brilliant team at Benchmark Drinks we have created a Rosé that I am truly enamoured by, it’s fresh, light and the perfect pink."

The pandemic has only heightened our love of rosé this year. According to VinePair’s internal data, pink wine got off to an earlier than usual start to its strongest seasonal period, with a 19 per cent increase in reader interest this March compared to 2019.

The description of Minogue's take on rosé reads: "Beautifully pale pink shade with delicate, alluring aromas of fresh summer berries and white blossom. Refined and refreshing on the palate with a fruity, crisp finish."

The pop star joins a number of celebrities who have entered the wine business. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Provençal estate broke the record for pink blush in June 2019, after a magnum of its Muse de Miraval fetched more than £2,300 at a charity auction. French newspaper Le Figaro has branded it "the superstar of rosé wine".

Other high-profile names to have dabbled in wine production include Sarah Jessica Parker, Keira Knightley and Drew Barrymore.
