Kym Marsh 'in tears' after vicious troll attacks her late son on Instagram

Kym Marsh has revealed she was reduced to tears after an online troll verbally attacked her late son on Instagram.

The Coronation Street star and her former husband Jamie Lomas lost their first child, Archie Jay Lomas, just moments after he was born in February 2009. He was 18 weeks premature.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday 19 December, Marsh shared a screenshot of the mean-spirited comment on her feed. It read: “Stop acting like your nice and kind and sweet and a sweetie kym your Nothing to corrie and me go to heaven like your s*** of a son.”

She explained that, while the user may gotten rid of it now, it still caused immense hurt and that “something has to be done” about the barrage of abuse people in the public eye receive on social media.

“This person @charley_webb_biggestfan has since deleted this comment that was very cruelly left on one of my Instagram posts this morning,” she said in the caption. “I’m sorry, I don’t really care what people say about me, people are allowed an opinion, that’s none of my business, but to say such cruel things...

“I’m in tears reading this today. Something has to be done.”

Later, Marsh took to her Instagram story to thank her followers for all their support and to point out that the troll is hidden behind a fan page of Lomas’s sister, Emmerdale’s Charley Webb, and not the actor herself.

“Charley is my son’s aunty and is disgusted by it,” she added.

This isn’t the first time Marsh - who has three more children named Polly, David and Emilie - has spoken openly about the tragic incident. Back in 2017, she told The Sun on Sunday: “After Archie died, I was utterly lost.

“I never got to the point of thinking about taking my own life, but I don’t know how I might have felt if I hadn’t had two young children and a good support network around me."
