Kynren Pyromusical promises sparkling addition to North East fireworks displays this November
With the annual run of Kynren now over for the year, the outdoor show's vast site in County Durham is gearing up for its next big night of action.
The Flatts Farm setting in Bishop Auckland, where the Kynren theatrical experience plays out every summer, will once again host a Pyromusical to celebrate Bonfire Night. Billed as the North East’s biggest fireworks spectacular, it will take place on November 2 in the run-up to Bonfire Night, lighting up the night sky above the seven-and-a-half-acre outdoor stage with fireworks synchronised to music from across the past five decades.
This will be the sixth year for the Pyromusical and its 25-minute display is being choreographed by the pyrotechnics team behind the epic fireworks showcase which makes up the grand finale to Kynren performances and has become a highlight of the event. November's Pyromusical will play out in front of the same 8,000-seater tribune auditorium, with Auckland Castle as the backdrop.

Anna Warnecke, Kynren's chief executive officer, said: “After previous sell out years, we’re expecting Pyromusical 2024 to be another dazzling and unforgettable event, showcasing the talent and creativity here in Bishop Auckland. We invite audiences, new and returning, to soak up the autumnal spirit, get wrapped up in coats and layers and join us for a memorable evening with family and friends.”
The site is exposed so audiences are always encouraged to dress warmly. There also will be fire pits around the park for people to cosy up to and food will be on sale ahead of the show, with the likes of hotdogs and popcorn on offer alongside mulled wine and hot chocolate.
Gates will open on the day from 4.15pm and ticket-holders are advised to arrive before 6.15pm in readiness for the performance to start at 7pm. Tickets cost £12 for adults; £6 for under-18s and are free for children of three and under when sitting on an adult’s knee.
A shuttle bus service from Bishop Auckland bus station is also available for a cost of £3 per person. To book tickets see here or call 01388 436 033.
