La Liga Leaks: Mega offer for Cristiano, Suarez future to be decided & N’Zonzi, Guidetti eye PL returns

Good morning from the increasingly hot Spain as we delve deep into the newspapers as well keeping our ears open for rumours and news. Transfers continue to remain a hot topic of interest as clubs look to get their business done early ahead of a hectic international calendar this summer. Here are the best stories from today.

Paris Saint Germain have made a super-massive-mega-offer for Cristiano Ronaldo say SPORT (via La Gazzetta dello Sport). There’s been speculation throughout the season that this may be Cristiano’s last campaign for Real Madrid but, in Italy, they’re convinced PSG have indeed made their interests known to Los Blancos.

The French giants are willing to pay €120m for the Portuguese superstar, making him the most expensive player in the world (again), and are even willing to double his current €15-per-season wages to a whopping €30m. As we’ve seen in the past with other big names, Real won’t be bullied into selling or jump at the chance to just make a profit on a player. If no new contract is offered though, expect these rumours to intensify.

The future of Denis Suarez is yet to be decided either. The young forward, currently on the books of Villarreal after a wonderful debut season for the Yellow Submarines, looks set to return to Barcelona – but he wants assurances he’ll get sufficient playing time. After making Vicent del Bosque’s shortlist for Euro 2016 he doesn’t want to spend another season on the bench. If the two parties can’t reach an understanding, Barcelona could follow Madrid’s lead and re-sign the player, only to then sell him on for a larger fee.

John Guidetti could be set for a swift return to England according to AS. The Swedish striker, who was released by Manchester City just last summer, has a proposal on the table from a Premier League club. A bid was accepted by Celta Vigo this week and it’s up to the player to decide whether he stays in La Liga with Celta, who have Europa League football next season, or try to crack England again. The club in question is rumoured to be Swansea City.

Fresh after winning the Europa League with Sevilla, Steven N’Zonzi could also be returning to England after a 12-month stay in Spain. Premier League champions Leicester City – still feels weird saying that - look set to lose N’Golo Kante this summer and one of the names on their shortlist to replace him is N’Zonzi, who established himself as a key member of Sevilla’s first team.

Valencia finally decided to appoint a first team coach and after weeks of speculation as to whether it’d be Rafa Benitez, Manuel Pellegrini or Paco Jemez – they decided to stick with Pako Ayestaran. This announcement coincided with some questions on Valencia’s foray into the transfer market – with director of football Suso García Pitarch saying: “They’ll be a number of changes to the squad.”

Pitarch confirmed there has been three offers for one player and two for another, all rejected as the players in question as seen as part of the future of the club. “In principal we won’t sell unless a player decides he doesn’t want to stay.” Plaza Deportiva suggest the man with three offers to his name is Andre Gomes, courted by Juventus and Manchester United. The other is said to be Joao Cancelo with at least one offer coming from the Premier League – Spurs were linked with the full back recently.

A man who looks set to leave after a disappointing time at Valencia is Alvaro Negredo. The Spanish striker’s move back home hasn’t quite worked out the way he’d planned and his agent is currently in Milan – both clubs there are interested in ‘The Shark’. Cadena Ser report that the €30m record signing could leave for just €8m as Valencia look to lighten their wage bill ahead of a season without European football.

Arda Turan’s agent has guaranteed that his client will be at Barcelona next season. When quizzed by RAC1 over Arda’s future he said: “Of course (he’’ll stay), he has four years left on his contract.” While that might be the will of the player, AS believe Luis Enrique has given the green light to selling the Turkish international if a good offer comes in.

Someone who might be joining Barcelona is Sidnei. The centre half impressed onlookers with his displays for Deportivo last season and AS believe an agreement between the player and the Catalan giants has been agreed. Depor did offer him a new deal but the interest of Barcelona has made this a moot point.

One of the longest ‘will he, won’t he?’ stories in recent times appears to be nearing its conclusion as Nicolas Gaitan is on the verge of leaving Benfica to sign for an elite European side – not Manchester United but Atletico Madrid. The player is currently in Argentina preparing for the Copa America and while he stopped short of confirming the move, he did speak to the media. “I haven’t signed anything with anyone yet. It was my last game for Benfica and there are two clubs interested in me.” AS believe the player’s agent will arrive in Madrid today to iron out the details of the contract and he’ll be announced as an Atletico Madrid player next week.
