Lady Gaga compared to SpongeBob SquarePants and Spider-Man as Super Bowl gig gets meme treatment
Lady Gaga flew off the roof and dropped the mic before quickly becoming a meme after her Super Bowl 51 halftime show.
The pop superstar put on an electrifying performance at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas as she entertained thousands of fans with a 13 minute set packed with her biggest hits.
Gaga kicked off the spectacular with God Bless America before transitioning into This Land is Your Land which she sang atop the stadium surrounded by red, white and blue drones making up the American flag.
The singer then dived and somersaulted down onto the pitch before singing hits including Poker Face and Born This Way.
The dramatic entrance quickly gave birth to hilarious memes with some comparing her acrobatics to SpongeBob SquarePants and Spider-Man.
Others likened her moves to famous WWE stars.

Gaga wowed the crowd as she sang surrounded by futuristic backing dancers before taking to the piano to play A Million Reasons which saw her make a shout-out to her parents: “Hi mum! Hi dad.”
She wrapped up her set by dropping her microphone and jumping off the stage to catch a football.
Her energetic performance was praised by fans and famous faces who took to Twitter in their droves to congratulate her.
Ellen DeGeneres deemed it “incredible” while Nile Rodgers said she had made him “proud”.
Despite her subtle anti-Donald Trump message with Woody Guthrie’s famous 1944 song This Land is Your Land, Ivanka Trump praised her performance tweeting: “Incredible performance by @ladygaga #PepsiHalftime.”
Even Piers Morgan congratulated her and used a string of applauding hands emojis, writing: “BRILLIANT by @ladygaga. One of the best ever Superbowl #HalftimeShow performances. Great voice, great theatre & no politics... bravo.”
He later added: “Very few pop stars have the voice AND theatre game to crush a Superbowl #HalftimeShow like @ladygaga tonight. Incredibly impressive.”
