Lady Gaga's dog walker, Ryan Fischer, is expected to make a full recovery after being shot, according to his family.

“Thankfully, Ryan is receiving extraordinary care in the hospital right now and his doctors expect him to make a full recovery,” the Fischer family said in a statement. “We cannot possibly say enough to thank all of the first responders, nurses, and doctors who have worked so tirelessly to care for Ryan.”

Fischer was shot on Wednesday night (24 February) while walking the singer's three French bulldogs, Gustav, Koji, and Miss Asia. The male suspect reportedly took Gustav and Koji, shot Fischer with a semi-automatic handgun, and fled in a white sedan.

Miss Asia, the third dog, managed to escape the dognappers.

Lady Gaga has offered a $500k reward to anyone who can help retrieve her two dogs. The gunmen remain on the loose at this time and an investigation is ongoing.

“My beloved dogs Koji and Gustav were taken in Hollywood two nights ago,” the singer wrote on Instagram on Friday (26 February). “My heart is sick and I am praying my family will be whole again with an act of kindness. I will pay $500,000 for their safe return. Email KojiandGustav@gmail.com to contact us. Or, if you bought or found them unknowingly, the reward is the same. I continue to love you Ryan Fischer, you risked your life to fight for our family. You’re forever a hero.”

Fischer’s family also thanked Gaga for her support in their statement: “Of course, we also want to thank Lady Gaga who has shown nothing but non-stop love and concern for Ryan and our family right from the outset. Ryan loves Gustavo and Koji as much as Lady Gaga does; so we join in her plea for their safe return.”

“Thank you very much for your interest and support. At this time we kindly ask that you respect our family’s privacy as we are focused on Ryan’s recovery.”
