The 32-year-old, real name Stefani Germanotta, posted an image of her and Cooper performing at the 91st Academy Awards along with the caption:
“Nothing could be more special than sharing this moment at the Oscars with a true friend and artistic genius.”
The post has already garnered over two million likes, and it appears that Gaga and Cooper have only further fuelled romance rumours with their intimate Oscars performance.
Halfway through their rendition of ‘Shallow,’ Cooper walked across to Gaga’s piano, and sat next to her with his hands wrapped around her waist. They spent much of the remainder of the song staring into one another’s eyes before finally resting their heads together.
Lady Gaga initially sparked the romance rumour mill after she announced the break-up with her fiancé talent agent Christian Carino the week prior to the Academy Awards ceremony.
Cooper of course is in a long-term relationship with Russian supermodel Irina Shayk, and the celebrity couple have a two-year-old daughter.
Following their performance, Shayk, who sat sat front row, joined in the standing ovation, and went on to kiss Cooper and embrace Gaga.
And now Cooper’s ex-wife, actress Jennifer Esposito, who was married to Cooper for four months between 2006-2007, cryptically replied to a foul-mouthed tweet by comedian David Spade.
Spade tweeted and posted on Instagram a picture of the pair on stage at the Oscars with the caption: “Is there any chance these 2 aren’t f***ing?” to which Esposito replied on Instagram simply with: ‘Ha.’
The hugely successful film, the third remake of the 1937 film starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, tells the story of an aspiring singer (Gaga) and her turbulent relationship with her successful but troubled musician boyfriend (Cooper).
A Star is Born was nominated for eight Academy Awards (including Best Actor for Cooper and Best Actress for Gaga), and took home one Academy Award for Best Original Song ‘Shallow.’
