Lake Lyndon B. Johnson Swells as Deadly Flooding Hits Texas

A body was found along Lake Lyndon B. Johnson, also known as Lake LBJ, in Burnet County, Texas, on Tuesday, October 16, after flooding hit the state.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared a state of disaster in 18 counties in central and south Texas.

The floods, brought on by heavy rainfall, forced the closure of several parks and lakes, including Lake LBJ, as authorities conducted search and rescue missions. A bridge at Llano River also collapsed and hundreds of people across the Highland Lakes were evacuated.
