Yahoo News Lana Del Rey's new champagne-blonde hair looks *stunning*
The last time we saw Lana Del Rey she'd just resorted to lightening her hair with lemons during lockdown. She looked lovely, obviously, but it wasn't something we were keen on recommending (lemons are acidic and can cause damage to the hair, and even burns to the skin).
Going lighter (or pastel pink) was a big lockdown trend, what with Kylie Jenner's chunky highlights and the whole TikTok Purple Shampoo Challenge taking off again. But now that salons have reopened, a lot of people are having to book appointments to get their moment of hair madness fixed.
Lana Del Rey put her hair in the hands of the professionals recently after deciding to take her darker hair champagne blonde. Dramatic hair transformations take time, often requiring multiple salon visits, but Shelby Blankenship from Blakenship Salon in Oklahoma revealed phase one of Lana's hair colour journey, and the results are beautiful...
Shelby posted a picture on her Instagram alongside the caption: "So humbled that Lana Del Rey graced our salon to give us the opportunity to get her fixed up.
This isn’t the end goal but we’re taking baby steps to get her there with keeping her hair as healthy as possible.
She can literally pull off anything but I can’t wait to see this iconic champagne blonde once she gets all of the old dark color out. A true beauty."

A salon rep talked Popsugar through the exact colour process, starting with babylights using Goldwell Silklift for maximum lift, smudged with Redken shades EQ between foils to blend out any old highlights. After washing her highlights, they did a tiny shadow root with Redken shades 9M and glossed her ends with a shades 10VV and 10GI, plus clear to keep her as bright as possible.
