Lana Wood, Former Bond Girl and Sister of Natalie Wood, Now Homeless: 'It's Just Difficult to Cope With'

Lana Wood may be best remembered as sexy Bond girl Plenty O'Toole in Diamonds Are Forever, but her once promising film career instead took a tumultuous turn, leading the 71-year-old to homelessness.

The stunning actress and her sister, Natalie Wood, were once Hollywood royalty, but today, she is struggling to make ends meet, squeezing into a motel room outside Los Angeles with her daughter Evan, son-in-law, three grandchildren, and two dogs.

"It has been very difficult for the kids," Wood told Inside Edition. "They feel like they have no privacy."

Only water and a few snacks fit in their makeshift kitchen. Cooking is forbidden, so most meals are fast food. Instead of the pricey gowns Wood once wore, she shops for bargains at Goodwill.

When asked what happened to her, she told Inside Edition “real life.”

For several years, Wood lived with Evan and her grandchildren in a rented home in California. When they could no longer afford the rent, they had to move out. With no one to take them in, the family was suddenly homeless.

Her financial crisis has been worsened her daughter's mounting medical bills. Evan battled Hodgkin's lymphoma and her radiation treatments permanently scarred her lungs. She breathes through an oxygen compressor and her cancer has since returned.

“You live in a snow globe and the world is upside down, emotional,” Wood said. “It's like the rugs have been pulled out from under you. And it's just difficult to cope with.”

In addition, Wood also needs two knee replacement surgeries.

"I don't know how much more we can take," she said.

Wood’s life was much different six years ago, as she was living in two-story California home.

Back then, she was still pressuring Natalie’s husband, Robert Wagner, for answers about her sister’s mysterious 1981 drowning death.

Authorities have said that Robert Wagner is not a suspect. He denies any involvement in her death.

The actress’s outspoken demeanor put a wedge between her and the children of Wagner and Natalie, and she can't turn to them for help.

Wood said that if her sister saw her today, she would be “devastated” and “fix” the problems she has faced.

A friend has set up a GoFundMe page that's already raised more than $6,000. Wood is hoping to get her family back on their feet and buy a new home.
