Lanarkshire restaurants Carrigan's win industry award
A much-loved South Lanarkshire restaurant business is celebrating winning a prestigious industry honour.
Carrigan’s, which has locations in Hamilton, Blantyre and East Kilbride, was named independent multiple operator of the year at the Scottish Licensed Trade News awards.
Barry Carrigan, the proprietor of the family-owned hospitality group, told how they are “deeply honoured” by the recognition and said: “This award is a reflection of our incredible team, whose hard work and passion make Carrigan’s a special place.”
The award honours a business demonstrating “outstanding multi-site management, a clear understanding of market trends and dedication to fostering a strong team spirit”, with Carrigan’s triumphing for “dedication to excellence across its multiple venues and commitment to community, quality, and team development”.
A spokesperson said: “This award for Carrigan’s reflects innovative marketing efforts, sustainable growth and the engagement of a passionate, well-trained team who share a love for hospitality and are dedicated to ensuring each guest feels at home.
“The Carrigan family and management team were recognized for their visionary approach, their understanding of the marketplace and food and drink trends, and their ability to create an environment where both customers and employees feel valued.”

Barry added: “We want to thank our loyal customers and the communities we serve – their support has been instrumental in our journey and growth, and we’re excited to continue creating memorable experiences together.”
Louise Parvin of Merlins in Motherwell won the hospitality hero title at the same awards ceremony, with the venue also being highly commended as one of three finalists in the category of community pub of the year.
Judges praised its work to “support those less fortunate”, including plans to open on Christmas Day to ensure no-one spends the holiday alone, as well as running free weekly community events including its Thursday club with free pizzas.
