Lancashire iPhone users baffled over 'odd' Met Office weather warning alert
iPhone users have been left baffled over an 'odd' weather warning alert in Lancashire.
At around 12pm, Apple users in the county noticed an alert for 'severe high temperatures', a warning in place until 11.59pm on Friday, November 29. For some, this warning was then followed by and in tandem with another alert, for a very different kind of weather event.
This second alert reads: "Severe snow or ice warning until 23.59." Both have caused much confusion for residents, as there's no real evidence of either weather types in the county.

A third posted a photo of a rather sunny Lancashire, with the post: "This is Lancashire this morning, also weather warning for high temps!!!"
On the weather app, looking at the weather alerts shows an explanation for the warnings. On the 'severe high temperatures warning' it statss this is a "significant threat to life or property" that is affecting North West England, South West Scotland, Lothian Borders, Wales and Yorkshire and the Humber.
For the 'severe snow or ice warning', the threat level is the same, with residents advised to take immediate action. Areas affected are the East of England, North West England, Wales and the West Midlands. LancsLive has contacted Apple and the Met Office for comment.
