It has been revealed that 1,200 people die on UK roads every year.

30,000 more people receive serious, life-changing injuries. As a result, Lancashire County Council will host its annual 'Road Peace' memorial service.

This will be held on Sunday, November 17 from 12pm until 1.30pm at County Hall in Preston. It's aim is to help support the families and friends of people who have been killed on the roads and offer them support.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Road Police stated: "But road casualties are not just statistics, behind every number is a grief stricken family in turmoil, whose lives have been changed forever in an instant."

They added: "It's open to all who have been bereaved or injured through road traffic collisions and commemorates the work of the emergency services in responding to road traffic collisions."
