Landslide Delays Traffic in West Sumatra

A landslide that hit an intercity road between Padang, the capital of Indonesia’s West Sumatra province, and Solok, caused traffic delays on Wednesday, December 12, as the road became impassable.

Local media reported that the landslide was triggered by torrential rain.

The rain also caused flooding in different parts of Sumatra, damaging several bridges and paralyzing the main route between Padang and Bukittinggi. Credit: Satlantas Polresta Padang via Storyful
