Laptop battery sparks Flintshire house fire that sees person taken to hospital

A person has been taken to hospital following a house fire in Flintshire. It broke out on Bryn Lane, New Brighton, shortly before, 11.15pm last night (Thursday).

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service sent crews to extinguish the blaze, which sustained damage to the lounge and smoke damage, during the incident.

A fire service spokesperson said: "We were called to Bryn Lane, New Brighton at 23.13 last night to a fire involving a laptop battery." There was fire damage to the lounge area and smoke damage, the spokesperson said. They added: "The occupant was taken to hospital."
