Large Crowds Gather at Damascus Gate to Partake in Ramadan Festivities

Large crowds gathered at Damascus Gate in Jerusalem on Thursday night, March 23, as Ramadan festivities were underway.

Footage released by Israel Police captured the scene at Damascus Gate, which they said was “full of families, youngsters and elderly.”

Later, police broke up a brawl between groups of teenagers, with at least one person arrested, the Jerusalem Post reported .

Israel Police said that over 2,300 Jerusalem District officers, border officers, and other reinforcements, would be deployed throughout the city from Friday.
