Large Hailstones Hit Sydney Suburb Amid Severe Thunderstorm Warning
A severe thunderstorm hit the Sydney suburb of Baulkham Hills, Australia, on September 30, bombarding the area with hailstones greater than three-quarters of an inch in diameter.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning, with storms forecast to develop across New South Wales.
Footage uploaded to Facebook by James Lusher shows hail battering his porch. According to a picture, some hailstones were significantly larger than an Australian 10-cent coin, which is about the size of a US nickel.
