Large Hailstones Pelt Vehicle as Severe Weather Warning in Place for Parts of East Texas

Severe thunderstorm warnings were in place for counties in east Texas, on March 24, the National Weather Service (NWS) said, with footage showing a vehicle being pelted with large hailstones.

The NWS issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Myrtle Springs, judging that “half dollar” sized hail was likely. The NWS also put the area under tornado watch until early on March 25.
