Large number of emergency services respond to reports of trespasser on railway line in North Tyneside
Emergency services were called to North Tyneside on Tuesday morning after a trespasser was reported on the railway line.
The British Transport Police (BTP), Northumbria Police, North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) and Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service (TWFRS) all attended the incident, which happened shortly after 9:30 this morning.
Pictures sent into ChronicleLive showed a number of police cars, fire engines and ambulances in attendance in Whitley Road.

TWFRS also attended the incident, and a spokesperson for the Service said in a statement: "We can confirm that four appliances from Byker, Wallsend, Hebburn and South Shields Community Fire Stations were dispatched to Whitley Road in North Tyneside this morning [Tuesday 4th February] after a report of a train incident.
"The call requesting assistance came from British Transport Police at 09.33am. Crews assisted blue light colleagues and no injuries were reported. The crew left shortly after 10.05am."
A spokesperson for BTP confirmed its officers had attended an incident in Tyneside, but would only says officers had been “called to the line near Manors railway station”.
The force added: “Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
