Police activated emergency powers to deal with a 'large number of young people'. They brought in a dispersal order which gives them the power to remove individuals from a dedicated area.

It followed a particular incident on Hunters Way, in Penkhull, at 9.40pm on Friday 1 November. Tensions had also been reported on Penkhull New Road and Chamberlain Avenue.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "We were called to Hunters Way following reports of public order issues. Officers attended and a large number of young people were found congregating in the area. A dispersal order was issued in the area from 11pm on 1 November to 7am on 2 November. The group left the scene at short time later. No-one was reported injured."
