As Iraqi forces continue advancing in west Mosul, civilians have been fleeing the city in large numbers, as seen in this footage from March 9 by a local network.

The United Nations refugee agency said on March 7 that it had set up new camps and expanded existing ones to shelter the newly displaced people.

The UN said 211,572 Iraqis have been displaced by the fighting in Mosul, with over 50,000 added since the beginning of the latest operation in the west of the city, launched on February 19. Credit: YouTube/Al-Mawsleya via Storyful
