Large-scale search for missing man in River Exe
A missing man has been found safe and well after reports of a large-scale coastguard search in the Topsham area. HM Coastguard said it received reports of concern for the welfare of the man in the River Exe during the early hours of this morning.
Reports online suggest there was a large-scale search and rescue effort involving 20 emergency crew members and that a helicopter was out looking for a missing person in the water.
The coastguard has now confirmed that a man was found safe and well on land. The police and ambulance service were also alerted to the search.
