Las Vegas shooting: Shocking video shows moment gunman opens fire at music festival crowd

At least 58 people have been killed and more than 500 injured after a gunman fired a hail of bullets into a crowd of 40,000 people at a Las Vegas music festival.

A video posted on social media shows country singer Jason Aldean on stage as the shooting began. Aldean can be seen continuing singing for around 10 seconds before tailing off.

Crowds can then be heard screaming as they duck down or run for cover.

Concert-goers reported seeing muzzle flashes from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel-casino across Las Vegas Boulevard from the music event and the sound of what they described as automatic gunfire.

Witnesses said they saw multiple victims as they fled the gunfire raining down on the concert venue from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel casino.

US police have identified the gunman as Stephen Paddock, who killed himself before police officers entered his hotel room.
