Lasizwe named one of the top 10 most influential young South Africans

Cape Town - Social media influencer Lasizwe Dambuza (20) made it into the top 10 of PR firm Avance Media’s most recent 100 Most Influential Young South Africans list, winning the lifestyle category.

Lasizwe came in at number seven, ahead of popular rappers Cassper Nyovest (12th), Nasty C (15th) and AKA (24th).

The flamboyant internet sensation, also known as Babes Wamaleyvels, shared the news on his Twitter page and thanked fans for voting for him.

“Ladies and Gentlemen! We WON! 100 Most Influential Young South Africans! Thank you so much! I am ranked at #7 out of 10,” he wrote.

Chatting to DRUM, the Fake It Till You Make It reality star says he is humbled. “It’s amazing, I don’t know how to feel or what to say,” he says excitedly.

“We won. It’s all because of my fans and people who support me in everything. My reality show ratings are also high because of my supporters.”

Although Lasizwe is in the top 10, he aims to rank higher next time around.

“I want to go higher than this. I’ve been posting these videos since I was 14 years old. I think I’ve worked hard to get here.”

When asked how his family reacted to the news, he says: “They are quite proud of me. It’s an amazing feeling.”
