The last coronavirus patient being treated at Aintree Hospital near Liverpool was discharged from the critical care unit, video posted on July 8 showed. The hospital described it as “such a special moment.”
The hospital is located in Fazakerley, near Liverpool. The area had suffered 467 coronavirus deaths as of July 7, local media reported.
In a post on Facebook, the hospital said: “We couldn’t be more proud of all of our staff who have played a role in the care of John and others like him.”
The United Kingdom’s COVID-19 lockdown was eased on July 4.
