Yahoo News The Last Jedi's Taiwan subtitles may reveal big clue
The second Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer is a glorious two-minute clip for all Star Wars fans to dissect while counting down the days until the next film's release (52, in case you were wondering), but it also tricked all of us through some classic clip manipulation to make the film seem like something it's probably not going to be.
One such moment comes from the ever-mysterious Supreme Leader Snoke, who opens the trailer with the quote: "When I found you, I saw raw untamed power. And beyond that, something special."

The trailer itself cuts between shots of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) while Snoke is speaking, leading to some confusion over who exactly Snoke is talking to.
But now, thanks to the beauty of translation and a Reddit internet sleuth, it looks like the official Taiwan subtitles for the trailer can rule out Snoke talking to Kylo at least, as the captions show Snoke is using a female-gendered pronoun, suggesting that he's talking to a woman.
Maybe even a certain scavenger from Jakku who looks like she may be tempted to the dark side?
"I've noticed the moment when Snoke says, 'When I found you...', the subtitle uses the feminine 'you' which is '妳' as oppose to the gender neutral 'you' which is '你'," the user wrote.
"This means that when Snoke says 'When I found you', Snoke is talking to a female character, which in my opinion is most likely Rey at this point."
Well, that's certainly what Disney wants us to believe at this point anyway.
Obviously there's no way of knowing for sure until the film has been released, but it's worth bearing in mind that we have been burned by translations and languages before when it comes to trying to solve the Star Wars mysteries being presented to us.
Remember when all the international film posters 'revealed' that 'The Last Jedi' of the title was referring to multiple Jedi?
Yeah, not so much – a few months later, director Rian Johnson revealed that there is just one last Jedi, and it was Luke Skywalker all along. Typical.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released on December 14 in the UK and December 15 in the US.
