A poignant last photo of PC Keith Palmer taken just minutes before he was killed by terrorist Khalid Masood has emerged.

The picture of a smiling PC Palmer was taken by US tourist Staci Martin just 45 minutes before Masood carried out his deadly rampage in central London.

The policeman was killed after being stabbed several times by Masood, despite several people trying to save his life in the immediate aftermath of the attack.

Miss Martin is from Florida and apparently had the picture taken with PC Palmer because of his hat.

American media reported that she is now trying to get the picture to the dead policeman’s family.

PC Palmer, 48, left behind a wife and children and an online donation page set up in the wake of the tragedy for his family has already raised £420,000.

He was one of four victims killed by Masood.

The Kent-born terrorist, who was born Adrian Russell Ajao, first drove into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before crashing his car into railings.

He then ran to the Houses of Parliament and armed with a knife attacked PC Palmer before being shot dead.

His other victims were Aysha Frade, a teacher in her 40s, US tourist Kurt Cochran, 54 and 75-year-old Leslie Rhodes from Streatham in south London.
