The @únicosobreviviente account has 1.2 million followers. While it claims that “humanity has been extinguished,” there is nothing to be too alarmed about. The TikTok is likely another point-of-view account, one that tells an ongoing story through fictional characters.

In “the last survivor” we see the world through Javier’s eyes when he wakes up in a hospital on Feb. 13, 2027, in Valencia.

Each TikTok is another installment in the series as Javier explores what used to be a fully-populated Spain. But of course, it’s easy to portray the world as empty when much of it is under the pandemic lockdowns.

Javier posts different places in Valencia in 2027, like an empty zoo where not only humans have disappeared, but animals too.

The mysterious Javier showed his reflection in a building scored to some pretty sinister music for his most popular video with over 8 million views.

While there may not be much “reality” to @únicosobreviviente‘s account, it is certainly an artful way to have fun and connect with others remotely during the very real pandemic.
