Latest Cambridgeshire flood warnings say 'act now' after heavy rainfall

Several flood warnings and alerts remain in place in Cambridgeshire after heavy rainfall. The county was affected by an amber rain warning from the Met Office which warned of flash floods.

There are 48 'act now' flood warnings and 91 'be prepared' flood alerts in place across the country on Saturday (September 28). More than a dozen of these are in place across Cambridgeshire.

A Cambridgeshire County Council spokesperson said: "Do not drive or wade through flood water. Stay safe by driving to the conditions and please allow more time for travelling."

Latest 'act now' flood warnings for Cambridgeshire

  • River Great Ouse at Huntingdon and Hartford. Areas most at risk are Waters Meet, Temple Close, Hartford Road, Tennis Court Avenue, Nursery Road and Brookside in Huntington, Main Street, Church Lane, The Grove and Old Houghton Road in Hartford.

  • River Great Ouse at Brampton and Godmanchester. Areas most at risk are Bromholme Lane, Buckden Road, Allens Orchard, Hawkes End, Lenton Close, Layton Crescent, Park Road, roads off of Centenary Way, Elizabethan Way, West End, Hansell Road, properties near North Road and Berry Lane in Godmanchester.

  • River Great Ouse at Southoe, Buckden and The Offords. Areas most at risk are Broughton Lodge Farm in Southoe, Mill Road in Buckden, High Street in Offord Darcy and Station Lane in Offord Cluny.

  • River Great Ouse at Little Paxton and Great Paxton. Areas most at risk are Skipper Way, Red Admiral Court, Marbled White Court, Hayling Walk and Gordon Road in Little Paxton and River Lane in Great Paxton.

  • Areas close to the River Great Ouse at Wyboston, Eaton Socon, Eynesbury, Eaton Ford, and St Neots. Areas most at risk are Wyboston Lakes, School Lane in Eaton Socon, Hardwick Road and Springbrook in Eynesbury, The Paddock and Crosshall Road in Eaton Ford and River Terrace, Priory Lane, Chandlers Wharf, Brook Street, Church Street and Browns Square in St Neots.

  • Areas near the River Nene from Elton to Wansford. Areas near the River Nene from Elton to Wansford including Elton, Yarwell and Wansford.

  • Areas near the River Nene from Thorpe Waterville to Eaglethorpe. Areas near to the River Nene from Thorpe Waterville to Eaglethorpe including Thorpe Waterville, Wadenhoe, Oundle, Cotterstock and Tansor.

An Environment Agency spokesperson said: "The forecast is for dry weather for the next two days. Take care on riverside roads and footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger."

Latest 'be prepared' flood alerts for Cambridgeshire

  • B1041 between Little Paxton and St Neots in Cambridgeshire. The B1041 between Little Paxton and St Neots may become impassable due to flood water.

  • River Great Ouse in Central Bedfordshire, Beds Borough and Cambridgeshire from Wyboston to Brampton. Areas most at risk are around the River Great Ouse from Wyboston to the south of Brampton, including Duloe Brook, Hen Brook and Fox Brook.

  • River Kym in Bedford Borough and Cambridgeshire. Areas most at risk are around the River Kym and River Til from Yelden, and Upper Dean to Hail Weston.

  • Lower River Cam in Cambridgeshire. Areas most at risk are around the River Cam from Stapleford to Waterbeach.

  • River Rhee in Central Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. Areas most at risk are around the River Rhee from Guilden Morden to Haslingfield.

  • River Granta in Essex and Cambridgeshire. Areas most at risk are around the River Granta from Linton to Babraham.

  • Lower Nene between Wansford and the Dog-in-a-Doublet Sluice to the east of Peterborough.

  • Hundred Foot Washes in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.

  • Bury Brook in Cambridgeshire, from Abbots Ripton to Ramsey.
