Laura Whitmore has told the tabloids to get their “facts right” after reports emerged of a “boozy wrap party” following the Love Island final.

The first ever winter edition of the ITV2 reality show came to an end on Sunday night (23 February), just one week after the death of its former presenter Caroline Flack.

“Little note to tabloids,” wrote Whitmore on her Instagram story. “The boozy wrap party with islanders was a 20min drink and a cuddle as they’re still on lock down and we’re 2 hours ahead so came off air at 1.30am.

“Adrenaline and emotions were high. In light of everything let’s try get FACTS RIGHT.”

Last week, Whitmore made a plea for privacy after being followed by paparazzi in a Cape Town airport.

The Love Island presenter was reuniting with her boyfriend, the show’s narrator Iain Stirling, for the first time since Flack’s death by suicide.

She uploaded footage of a paparazzo following the couple through the airport, alongside a written call for privacy so she can mourn the loss of her friend.

Whitmore also used her BBC Radio 5 Live show to call out clickbait news and online trolls following the tragedy.
