Lauren Goodger Asked If Michelle Keegan Inspired Her To Lose Weight In Awkward Live Interview

Lauren Goodger has been applauded for the way that she handled a “rude” and “awkward” question about her weight loss on ITV’s Loose Women earlier today.

The former TOWIE star was appearing on the live panel show to talk about her new workout DVD, with Lauren impressing everybody by losing four stone in weight last year.

Quizzed on the reasons why she decided to shed the pounds, Lauren explained: “Because I gained weight and me personally, for me, that wasn’t who I was.

“I was very athletic when I was young. I did a lot of dancing and gymnastics and I changed into coming to TV, partying a lot, drinking and for me personally, it was unhealthy.

“It wasn’t what I wanted to look like, where I wanted to be.”

However, that wasn’t enough for presenter Nadia Sawalha, who decided to ask the wholly inappropriate question of whether her ex-fiance Mark Wright’s super-skinny new wife, Michelle Keegan, had inspired her.

Although noticeably stunned, Lauren kept her composure and calmly responded: “I completely get it and I can see why people would think that. But where I am in my life and they are in their life… I’ve got a boyfriend I’ve had for three years.

“It was nothing to do with anyone else apart from me. There was nothing that could influence me, no one that could come to me and go ‘do this’. I did it at my time, when I was ready. Otherwise I would have done it ages ago.”

The star’s articulate response was met with support on Twitter, and although she remained calm while on the show Lauren hinted that she wasn’t happy with the question by retweeting a series of messages from fans.

One tweet read: “so proud of you! How you answered such rude questions with dignity as a woman and not let your past mould ur future my hero”.

Others said: “u handled yourself so well on loose women people keep bringing up the past all the time need to get over it.

“Handled yourself brill considering some of the questions, welldone #topchick [sic]”.
