The active volcano on La Palma in the Canary Islands continued to spew lava late on October 8, almost three weeks after its initial eruption.
Several hundred earthquakes were registered in the vicinity of the volcano this week, according to Spain’s National Geographic Institute.
More than 471 hectares had been affected by the volcano’s eruption as of Friday, the island’s local council reported.
