Learner driver taken off roads after being stopped in Coventry
A driver who was yet to pass their test has already been taken off the roads after being stopped in Coventry. Police swooped on the Vauxhall driver yesterday evening (Monday, November 25).
Officers from Coventry Police stopped the Vauxhall in the city at around 9pm yesterday (November 25). Officers detained the driver, who has not been named.
Police found that the person was driving without a supervising passenger and did not have L plates on the vehicle, they said on X. It led to the Vauxhall being seized. Learner plates and a qualified driver are both legal requirements for anyone learning to drive.

A spokesman for North West Coventry Police said: “If you are a learner driver, do not forget the following, a supervising passenger with a full driving licence for three years, and your L plates for the front and rear. Unfortunately, the owner of this vehicle forgot both, so the vehicle has been seized.”
