At Least 20 Bodies Found After Battery Factory Fire

At least 20 bodies were found at the site of a battery factory fire in Hwaseong, South Korea, on Monday, June 24, Yonhap reported, citing the country’s fire service.

The dead were among 23 people unaccounted for during the fire, with fears the toll could rise.

Twenty of the missing were said to be foreigners, including Chinese nationals, the fire service told media.

The blaze started at the plant of lithium battery maker Aricell, located 28 miles south of Seoul, at approximately 10:30 am local time. Fire officials said the main fire was under control by 3 pm.
