There are at least twenty Warm Spaces for people in North East Lincolnshire this autumn and winter.

Warms Spaces have increasingly appeared in recent years all over the country, during the cost of living crisis and increased energy bills. A 10 per cent increase in average annual energy bills beginning this autumn, coupled with Winter Fuel Allowance cuts, may see more people seek other ways to keep warm, aside from heating in their own homes.

Grimsby and North East Lincolnshire has already developed a strong network of Warm Space providers from previous winters. The spaces not only fulfil an immediate need to help people stay warm, but can also offer other facilities, and a chance to socialise. This can be vital for combatting isolation, as attested to by attendees of Scartho Methodist Church's Warm Space last year.
