It is an absolute disgrace that MPs in the Labour Party and human rights lawyers want to protect these individuals, who have taken advantage of our hospitality and services, only to commit crimes against our own citizens.

I re-enforced the importance of getting the flights to Rwanda off the ground and the need to protect the British people.

My constituents can be assured that I continue to raise my concerns with the Government week in, week out and I will always do my utmost to ensure that the people of Ashfield are heard on this matter.

A big thank you must go to Ben Bradley MP, leader of Nottinghamshire County Council, for visiting the A38 with me earlier this year and listening to my concerns, as the road repairs have finally been done.

I know this was an ongoing issue for constituents, so I am glad that this has been achieved and that Ben and I were able to work together on this.

In the latest transgender sporting row, Liz Kocab, an American fencer, managed to beat a 14-time female winner in fencing.

I have always maintained that biological males should not be allowed to enter women’s sports. This yet another example of women’s rights being eroded and blatant unfairness in the sporting world being allowed to take place.

We should be encouraging women to get into sports, but in today’s day and age it is increasingly difficult for them.

There was major flooding in Ashfield last Friday. I received many messages and phone calls from people concerned about the damage the flooding could cause.

Sunday marked Trafalgar Day, a day to celebrate one of the country’s finest people. Admiral Lord Nelson sadly died on the day that the British fought this important battle against Napoleon’s fleet, however it left the British Navy unchallenged until the 20th century.

It was also Craig Gould’s 40th Birthday on Sunday, so I want to take this opportunity to wish him all the best and I hope he had a great day celebrating.

Craig is the Managing Director of Make Consulting, a fantastic local business.

Craig is born and bred from Ashfield and has done more than his fair share of giving back to the community. He is a kind and generous man who understands the importance of looking after your own.
