Leeds man charged with attacking police officer

A Leeds man has been charged with attacking a police officer.

Jason Mortimer, 36, of Cliff Crescent, Kippax, appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court on Tuesday, November 26. He has been charged with the following offences:

  • wounding with intent to resist arrest.

  • attempted wounding with intent to resist arrest.

  • two counts of resisting a constable in the execution of their duty.

The charges are related to an incident which took place while officers were carrying out arrest enquiries at an address in Cliff Crescent, Kippax, on Sunday, November 24.

In addition, Mr Mortimer has been charged with breaching a restraining order. This charge concerns an incident which took place on November 23.

He has been remanded in custody. He will appear at Leeds Crown Court on December 24.
