Leeds Rhinos women's star suffers horrific facial injury after posting graphic image

Leeds Rhinos star Caitlin Beevers has proudly shown off her war wound from the Challenge Cup Final, after suffering a huge gash on her face. England ace Beevers was part of the Rhinos side that lost at Wembley on Saturday as they went down to St Helens.

But while she may not have left with a medal, she certainly has a battle scar to remember the occasion by after suffering a gruesome looking injury during the game. Incredibly, Beevers carried on playing after the incident playing the rest of the game with a huge bandage on her head.

Beevers suffered a brutal head clash with St Helens winger Pheobe Hook, one that split her open above the eyebrow straight away. But after receiving several minutes of treatment to cover up the cut, she carried on.

It was ultimately a disappointing day for Leeds, who could not end St Helens' dominance of the competition after they won it for a fourth-straight time, going down 22-0.

After the game, Rhinos coach Lois Forsell said: “We’ve had quite a lot of different influences on the week and it’s been a tough one, but today was about getting the job done and we weren’t good enough on the day.

“We made quite a few individual errors and we didn’t put into practice what we had done in training. We didn’t turn up as a collective and I don’t think we gave a true account of ourselves.”
