Leeds United have already been told what qualities transfer target could add to promotion push
There remains a distinct possibility of Leeds United strengthening their midfield options before the end of October. Injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev have left Daniel Farke short on options in the middle of the park.
Farke has not ruled out a free agent signing to give them additional competition and cover in central midfield and in defence. As first reported by LeedsLive, Josuha Guilavogui is on their transfer radar.
The Whites, who have have been linked with a handful of names, including Cheikhou Kouyate and Francis Coquelin, have looked at veteran French midfielder Guilavogui. The 34-year-old is currently unattached, having left Mainz at the end of his one-year contract in the summer.

A picture of Guilavogui with a United supporter emerged through social media on Friday evening in the aftermath of their 2-0 win at home to Sheffield United. Guilavogui, capped seven times by his country, is among the free agents United are assessing as Farke aims to lead the Whites back to the Premier League.
Guilavogui counts the likes of VfL Wolfsburg, Atletico Madrid and Saint-Etienne among his former clubs. He was club captain at Wolfsburg for a number of years, clocking up over 250 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.
In a statement on Wolfsburg's official club website following confirmation of Guilavogui's departure back in April 2023, sporting director Marcel Schafer said: "Josh is the kind of player whose value cannot be measured by numbers alone.
"He has achieved great things over a long period of time, both on and off the pitch. With his commitment and his exemplary mentality, he is a shining example of the values of VfL Wolfsburg. We will miss him as a footballer, as a person and also as a cheerful character in the dressing room. At the same time, of course, we respect his wish to take on a new challenge and to get more playing time than he has had of late."
