Leeds United boss Daniel Farke identifies 'decisive moments' in Burnley defeat
Leeds United fell to their first defeat of the season against Burnley at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon leaving them ninth in the Championship.
Speaking after the final whistle Daniel Farke was brutally honest in his assessment of the performance. The Whites failed to convert any of their 17 shots - four of which were on target - with Mateo Joseph ’s first-half chance the pick of the bunch in terms of poor finishes; he dispossessed a Burnley defender and bore down on goal with just James Trafford to beat but could only skew his shot wide to the dismay of Elland Road.
An individual error gifted Burnley possession for the game-only goal on 18 minutes; Spurs loanee Manor Solomon slipped before Luca Koleosho took full advantage by driving at the Leeds defence before releasing a sumptuous strike low to Ilan Meslier 's right which proved the decisive goal.

“We have to be self-critical,” the Leeds boss explained. "The decisive moments of the game were not effective enough, because obviously we should have scored already after two minutes.
He continued: “We had much more of these situations and better chances, even better chances, easier chances to score. We didn't take them, so this is where we have to be self-critical in the decisive moments of the game.
They [Burnley] were there with the 85-yards counter-attack, two against one, then it's a really effective finish, a good finish in the bottom corner,” Farke added.
“We didn't turn this game on our side to score the goals and also we are disappointed to concede out of such a situation. We are not happy with our effectiveness today and that's the reason why we lost this game.”
Next up for Leeds is a trip to south Wales where they will face Cardiff City at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday, September 21 (3pm).
