What Leeds United boss Daniel Farke said on Coventry City victory and Ethan Ampadu's knee injury
Boss Daniel Farke hailed his Leeds United side following their "mature" performance at home to Coventry City. The Whites brushed aside the Sky Blues with a minimum of fuss at Elland Road today thanks to goals from Wifried Gnonto, Jayden Bogle and super-sub Joel Piroe. The visitors offered little as an attacking force as United secured back-to-back league wins.
Their latest victory keeps United riding high in the Championship play-off places and leaves them only two points shy of early pacesetters West Bromwich Albion. Their success has been built on a strong defence, with Farke's men recording five clean sheets in seven league outings.
"We were excellent in the first half," said Farke. "All over them. We did not give them one chance."

Describing Gnonto's 16th minute opener as a "fantastic team goal", Farke felt his side could have been out of sight after a dominant first half display. He said United took their "foot off the gas" after Bogle doubled their advantage early after the break with his first goal for the club since arriving in a £5m deal from Sheffield United.
Farke, who confirmed captain Ethan Ampadu was forced off with a knee injury and will be assessed over the coming days, said: "(We) controlled everything off the ball, but decisions in passing were not that great. Could have dominated even more, perhaps, but not annoyed with this. Many important players out and some with light injury issues on the pitch."
Given United have an away double-header with Norwich City and Sunderland coming up, Farke would have preferred them to show more composure on the ball after Bogle's strike. Coventry is the first of three match in seven days.
