Leeds United decision fuelling Daniel Farke issue as future question won't go away
There have been a few tell-tale signs of late that Leeds United head coach Daniel Farke is feeling a little frustrated. The German has a 50 per cent win ration in the Championship this season with three wins from six games, two draws and one defeat, which is hardly the cause for panic.
And yet, when coupled with last season's poor finish the run of results takes on a different perspective and that has left some supporters questioning Farke, his team's performances and the club's direction. That question of faith has clearly filtered through to Farke, who came to the press conference to preview the Cardiff City armed with a dossier of stats and facts to defend his corner.
It wasn't the first time the ex-Norwich City boss had shown a sense of frustration in a press conference this season, having let his frustration at the board shine through at a failure to bring in a number 10 in the transfer window.

Now, to complete his own hat-trick, the German was not shy in airing some grievances following Saturday's 2-0 win at Cardiff, with the conversion rate of his players a real bugbear as Leeds failed to kill off a wounded animal that should have been put down much earlier than Joel Piroe's late goal.
Pointing to the average age of his squad, which again goes back to that transfer window business, Farke talked about his "wild horses" as a sense of frustration crept in. It's not a fresh line of attack from Farke, who has spoken previously about the average age of his squad.
The frustration from the Whites boss does in some way go hand in hand with a strange fog that at times has engulfed the club this season. There has been signs of disquiet from the fanbase at the recruitment strategy, the selling of key men, the handling of Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and the form in some games. That fog has lifted at other times with a reaffirmed belief Leeds will challenge for automatic promotion this season.
But while the mood has been in a state of flux, the questions among some supporters surrounding the future of Farke has not changed. There has been no suggestion or even the slightest hint from inside the club that a change is being considered, and given the team's current league standing that's no surprise.
And yet, for some supporters the questions surrounding Farke are very real. The Leeds boss knows that and it's also apparent that's fuelled his recent frustrations.
