Leeds United played out a 1-1 draw in the Championship with Norwich City. Josh Sargent opened the scoring with a spot-kick after he was felled by Joe Rodon before Largie Ramazani equalised after the break.

The first half was also marred by an injury to Ilia Gruev, just three days after Ethan Ampadu saw his season written off for the next 10 weeks. It was chaotic opening 45 minutes which saw the referee angering both sides with his decision-making.

Ramazani eventually got the visitors level after the break.

Leeds United (4-2-3-1)

1 Illan Meslier

Penalties are never easy for goalkeepers, but the Frenchman's attempt at a save was not great. Distribution caused you to clench at times. Still, Norwich did not give him much to do. 6

2 Jayden Bogle

Solid enough. Defensive errors have been absent in the last two games as he has improved. Always tried to help in attack on the overlap too. More of a threat in the first half. 7

6 Joe Rodon

Will be kicking himself over the next few days about that penalty. Went to ground too early and Josh Sargent exploited it. Recovered well from the error, though, and didn't really put a foot wrong thereafter. Near own goal was not his fault when trying to block a cross. 6

5 Pascal Struijk (c)

Didn't need to pick up an unnecessary yellow in the first half when the attacker was well-covered. Really solid otherwise though and didn't give Norwich anything in attack. Leeds looked ragged at times and needed their captain to be on it. 7

3 Junior Firpo

Walked that tightrope between excellent and disastrous all evening. Lots of attacking play we like to see, but some of those defensive lapses which left the team in the lurch. Good just about outweighed the bad. Neat touches were important to some first-half attacks. 7

44 Ilia Gruev

Barely had time to get going before he went off with an injury that everyone hopes does not leave him out for very long. Tried to play on with the problem initially. 6

22 Ao Tanaka

Did not look comfortable as the holding midfielder in the first half once Gruev had gone off. Leeds were ragged and exposed at the back, almost looking like they had 10 men. Control on the ball was good, though and he did battle. Improved after the break, but weight of pass not always there. 6

29 Wilfried Gnonto

Best player on the pitch. Norwich couldn't touch him when he had the ball at his feet. Not surprising the goal came through his classy turn and pass. Deserved more on the night. 8

11 Brenden Aaronson

Battled well all night, but touches of quality were not quite there to make a difference in the final third. 6

17 Largie Ramazani

Took the goal well. Grafted all night for the team and didn't leave Firpo on his own. Not everything came off for him, but clearly got so much talent. 7

19 Mateo Joseph

Faded out of the game entirely in the second half, but did provide a decent focal point in the first period from which Leeds could build their attacks. Some neat touches and passes into the wingers got Leeds up the field. 6

Substitutes

26 Karl Darlow

8 Joe Rothwell (on for Gruev 20min)

Looked a yard off the pace in the first half. Difficult when parachuted into the match when he was. He and Tanaka will have to find their groove if Gruev is missing for a while. 5

9 Patrick Bamford (on for Joseph 70min)

Didn't get a sniff, really. 6

10 Joel Piroe (on for Ramazani 70min)

Nothing fell for him. Subs seemed to kill United's threat. 6

25 Sam Byram (on for Firpo 82min)

Late leg-saver. N/A

30 Joe Gelhardt (on for Gnonto 82min)

Late leg-saver. N/A

37 James Debayo

42 Sam Chambers
