Leeds United player ratings as Wilfried Gnonto and Daniel James torment Sheffield Wednesday
Leeds United have their first victory of the Championship season as they beat Sheffield Wednesday in the Yorkshire derby.
The Whites bagged the opener on 24 minutes as Wilfried Gnonto's pass picked out Mateo Joseph - he was denied by a last-ditch Wednesday challenge but Brenden Aaronson was on hand to pick up the loose ball and fire home in front of the Kop.
Daniel James made it two after the break as he dinked the ball in after an exquisite pass from Joseph. Here are Leeds Live's player ratings from Hillsborough.

1 Illan Meslier
Struggled with crosses into the area but improved as the first half went on. Missed opportunities to alleviate the danger. 6
2 Jayden Bogle
Anthony Musaba gave him a torrid time in defence but going forward he was always a threat alongside James. 6
3 Junior Firpo
A quiet game from the full-back but was a lot more comfortable dealing with Josh Windass. 7
5 Pascal Struijk
Should have scored in the first half early doors but was a rock alongside his defensive partner. 8
6 Joe Rodon
A solid centre-back display from Rodon who is proving why Leeds decided to make his stay permanent. 8
4 Ethan Ampadu
The captain was brilliant in the centre and protected his back line very well. 8
44 Ilia Gruev
Was not afraid to run at the Wednesday defence and when he did, there was little the hosts could do to stop him. 7
7 Dan James
Delivered some excellent balls into the box and deserved an assist when Struijk headed wide. Finished brilliantly for Leeds' second. 9
11 Brenden Aaronson
Took his goal very well and justified Daniel Farke faith to start him. Along with James and Gnonto, he was a menace for Wednesday but he had a quieter second 45. 8
29 Willy Gnonto
My man of the match. Started the move that got Leeds the first goal and his free role cutting into the centre left Wednesday struggling all night. He flourished under the pressure of the Yorkshire derby. 9
19 Mateo Joseph
Unlucky not to bag himself a goal and not for the foot of Pol Valentin would have scored Leeds' first. Produced an excellent pass to set-up James, one for his highlight reel. 8
