Understandably, Daniel Farke has made no changes to the Leeds United team which hammered Norwich City at Elland Road last week in the Championship play-off semi-final. The German has retained faith in those 11 players and restored Sam Byram to the bench after his hip flexor injury.

It means Archie Gray remains at right-back, ahead of both Byram and Connor Roberts, following his excellent performance there last week. Ilia Gruev and Glen Kamara are kept together in the engine room too, after huge improvement across the semi-final with Norwich City.

Further forward, Georginio Rutter gets the chance to build on the upturn in form he saw at Elland Road. Joel Piroe leads in the attack after impressing in all areas against Norwich.

Ethan Ampadu makes his 49th consecutive start in the league this season and hasn’t missed a beat since last August in an immense show of consistency with form and injury. This will be the third meeting between the Saints and Leeds this season, with the former taking victory in each of the first two.

Today’s referee against Southampton is John Brooks and he is assisted by Simon Bennett, Dan Robathan and Tony Harrington (fourth official). A video assistant referee, Jarred Gillett, will also be used today, with Darren Cann assisting him.
