Leeds United transfers boost bucks a trend holding back key Championship rivals
Four new players arrived at Leeds United in the final eight days of the transfer window, but Daniel Farke has no concerns about how long their integration will take. The latter stages of summer transfer windows can be a messy time for clubs as managers try to win competitive fixtures while bedding in new faces.
Manor Solomon is the only one of Daniel Farke’s most recently added quartet to get a start in the line-up at this stage, but the German is encouraged by how all four have settled into life at Thorp Arch. While Saturday’s clash with Burnley ended in defeat, Farke was encouraged by what he saw from a group that barely had 24 or 48 hours together over the preceding fortnight.
The fact United dominated, in Farke’s words, a team as highly rated as Burnley at the weekend means a lot to the manager as he takes stock of where his side is at. The only aspect of that loss he felt he could criticise was Solomon’s decision to ignore his passing options before slipping to let the visitors in for a goal.

“Normally, I would agree and say it always lasts a few weeks until everyone is integrated, but if I just judge a game without really having them all together on the training pitch and then to be able, it was not just one team coming here, it was one of the top favourites for winning the title, to play that dominant against them,” said Farke.
“It's pretty encouraging to say we are already pretty far, although we have to integrate a few players. I know after a loss it is always difficult to speak about [positives], but even encouraging.
“For that, I'm not too concerned it will last so long because the only thing I can really criticise today is our effectiveness and seizing the situations and that we underestimated the situation after our own corner, with slipping away instead of going for the easy pass back or the easy pass wide, but that’s the only thing I can criticise today.”
