Leeds United will be backed by just under 40,000 loyal fans at Wembley Stadium when they walk out for the Championship play-off final. Thousands will turn the famous stadium white as Daniel Farke's side go head-to-head with Southampton for a place in next season's Premier League.

After narrowly missing out on an automatic promotion place during the regular season, Leeds have one final chance to bounce back at the first time of asking, and joining Leicester City and Ipswich Town in the top flight.

It will be the first time at Wembley for many Leeds fans, with the club starved of cup final visits in recent years, and the club have issued important information for those attending the big game. Here's what you need to know.

When does Wembley open?

With the game getting under way at 3pm, admission to the stadium is available from 1pm for fans, with hospitality lounges opening an hour earlier at 12pm. A statement from the club reads: "The quickest route to your turnstile entry point is by following the signage to the colour zone – this can be found on your ticket. Please have tickets ready to show match day stewards when asked. Please also ensure you arrive in enough time to assist with the security protocols at Wembley Stadium. Children aged 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children under the age of two will not be permitted entry into the stadium."

Which turnstiles should Leeds United fans use?

All turnstile information is displayed on your match ticket, which should be downloaded before you attend the stadium.

  • Download your digital ticket to your Apple Wallet / Google Wallet. This MUST be done prior to your arrival at Wembley Stadium. The link to download your digital ticket can be found inside your Leeds United booking confirmation email.

  • As you approach the turnstiles, open your Apple Wallet / Google Wallet on your mobile device and locate your digital ticket.

  • At your designated turnstile, you will be required to place your digital ticket on your mobile device UNDER the scanner with the QR code facing upwards. This is different to how some fans may place their tickets AGAINST the scanners at Elland Road to gain entry into the stadium.

  • Once your ticket has been scanned by the reader, you can proceed through the turnstile.

Wembley security

"There will be multiple ticket checks and security searches in place on the day, so you are encouraged to arrive 60-90 minutes ahead of kick off to allow enough time. Wembley work closely with the Police, the Safety Advisory Group, and the relevant authorities to ensure the stadium’s security protocols meet the highest standards. You can read more, here.

"Anyone seen to be gaining illicit access to the stadium will be apprehended and reported to the police.

"There will be a strong police presence in and around the stadium, including search dogs and handlers that will be on patrol to identify and apprehend anyone with illegal or prohibited items, including pyrotechnics and banned substances."
