Leeds United fans are waiting an agonising wait over the future of talented midfielder Archie Gray.

Despite only being 18, Gray played a whopping 52 times for the Whites last season, featuring heavily in positions such as defensive midfield, the number 10 role and even at right-back when called upon. It proved to be a disappointing end to the season for the Whites, narrowly missing out on promotion in the Championship play-off final.

With preparations already underway for next season, Leeds are looking to potentially offload some of their first-team stars given the pressure of Profitability and Sustainability regulations. With parachute payments and TV revenue also reducing, Gray, Willy Gnonto, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville are amongst those cited with exits.

Tottenham Hotspur are just one of the clubs said to hold a strong interest in Gray heading into the summer, with a potential swap deal for Joe Rodon cited as an option. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Leeds' current situation, explaining the 18-year-old has plenty of suitors.

“No decision has been made on Archie Gray’s future yet, it’s crucial to see what Leeds United want to do.” wrote Romano in his latest weekly column. “There are several clubs keeping a close eye on him, not just one to mention. In England and in Germany there’s strong interest in the player.”

Having developed as a youngster via the famous Thorp Arch academy, Gray is still under contract with United until 2028 and would require a hefty fee to lure him away from Elland Road. He has also been capped twice at England Under-21s level.
