Leicester's Robert Huth trolls Alexis Sanchez with picture of 'battle' wound from Arsenal clash

Leicester defender Robert Huth has responded to Alexis Sanchez's photo of his swollen lip by trolling the Arsenal star with a picture of his own "battle" wound from the game.

Sanchez took to his Instagram account following Arsenal's 1-0 win over Leicester on Wednesday night to show fans the swollen lip he suffered during an incident with Christian Fuchs.

With Leicester trailing 1-0 following Huth's own goal in the 86th minute, the Foxes went looking for an equaliser and, indeed, won a late throw-in that Fuchs attempted to take.

However, he was twice put off by Sanchez, who was standing only inches away, before Fuchs launched his third attempt straight into the Chile international's face.

Sanchez fell to the pitch clutching his face and was subsequently shown a yellow card before he posted a picture onto his Instagram account of the "swollen lip" he suffered as a result.

And, with the incident resulting in much talk about how it could have been avoided in the first place, Huth has now responded to Sanchez's social media post in light-hearted fashion by taking to his Twitter account and showing off his own injury from the match.

"Just about recovered from the arsenal battle the other night #playon," he tweeted on Friday morning.

Despite Sanchez being criticised for his reaction to Fuchs' throw-in, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger defended his star man after the game and insisted the referee could have done more to prevent the incident from occurring in the first place.

"I didn’t see where he has been hit but I saw that in the first two attempts when Fuchs tried to throw the ball in Sanchez stood next to him," Wenger told Standard Sport.

"I think he didn’t know that he had to be further away. As well I must say the referee didn’t tell him that he had to move away. He thought he was in the right position.

"After that he got a yellow card because he didn’t respect the rule. I accept that. He was not at the right distance."
