Leicester's charity shop raising funds for Loros hospice has a new home and is set to move in later this month. The new store will be "built around sustainable shopping and social conscience" according to the charity.

The Loros shop is currently based in High Street and is making the short move further along the street to its new home at 45 High Street in the coming days. The new This + That by Loros store will sell vintage womenswear and menswear, bric-a-brac, and a selection of books and vinyl records, too.

The hospice, which is at Heathley Park off the A50 Groby Road in Leicester, said the new store will be "built around sustainable shopping and social conscience". They have also praised the "beautiful" design the new shop will boast.

Loros revealed that its interior had been created from reused furniture and donated paint. The charity said this creates an "immersive experience for ethical shoppers".

Jamila Khalfan, head of retail at Loros said: “This + That has a unique look and feel that sets it apart from our other stores, with a strong focus on sustainability. Our fantastic retail team has worked so hard to bring this vision to life, and we we’re thrilled to invite everyone to come and see it for themselves.

"We know that shoppers are increasingly discerning and want their spend to support both charity as well as sustainability. This + That by LOROS ticks those boxes. Pre-loved fashion is a sustainable choice for the environment as well as the pocket.”

Both floors will be used for the main retail area, while the store has more than 50 volunteer vacancies to help young people develop new skills and experience, with shifts available throughout the week. The store's opening date has been revealed too, with organisers confirming it will open its doors at 11am on Thursday, November 21.

On the opening day, Loros said there will be "treats" for the first customers, along with a prize draw giving shoppers the chance to win a £100 gift card. On Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24 there will also be live bands playing at the store.
